For years, I have held a high interest in Aerobatic Team aircraft, and this, in my humble opinion, is one of the prettiest birds to have ever performed in tight formation. This team, called "Whisky 4" was based in The Netherlands during the 60's and put on many an air show in their day.

It's shown here on the ramp, with a vintage Vespa scooter for an added touch.
The aircraft was painted with Tamiya lacquers, which were decanted and then sprayed through an airbrush. Then it was rubbed to a high shine with polishing pads.

The list of aftermarket items is as follows:

  • a.. AMS tail pipe and wing flaps

  • b.. True Details wheel and speed brake wells

  • c.. Dutch National Insignia from Fisher Models Sea Fury kit

  • d.. Custom decals from Red Pegasus Decals

  • e.. Scale Aircraft Conversions metal land gear ( a must)

I will say that having previously built the P-80 cut a lot of time off the construction here, but many of the previous issues were contained here as well. All in all, an enjoyable build of one of my favorite subjects.
Enjoy.
