VNAF’s Helicopter Squadron 213 Song Chùy (PD213) was one of the first to receive UH-1H helicopters from the US. This unit was based of of Da
Nang.
I have included a picture of the original aircraft taken in Da
Nang.

I built this kit straight from the box except for the home-made Vietnamese national insignia and serial numbers. One unique thing about this Huey is that it has the Crew Chief’s name printed on the pilot’s door.
In this case, it is
"Cơ Trưởng LÊ TRIỆU HỒNG" which means Crew Chief LE TRIEU HONG.
This kit was completed in April of this year, but I didn’t have the M60’s to make it into a true Slick.
Luckily, a friend of mine [FD] had sent me these nice M60 machine guns … so here we are… finally.
Last but not least, I would like to dedicate this Huey to all the VNAF pilots who flew these Hueys and the crew that maintained them.
