1/48 Trumpeter J-10A Vigorous Dragon

Here is my latest rollout. A J-10A using Trumpeter's recently released 1/48 kit. The kit is very impressive with great fit throughout except maybe the intake joint to the fuselage which required some filling and sanding. Other than that, the model went together really well. It was a fast build for me too, only taking just 2 weeks to finish her up into what you see now.

This J-10, as with all my builds, was 100% brush-painted with Tamiya and Gunze colors. The decals were discovered to be a little bothersome as they tear easily. One thing I did was to gloss coat the decal sheet before commencing the decaling so as to give the decals some rigidity. It worked and none of the fuselage decals tore during the decal process. Weathering was done by using a sharp pencil to draw over the panel lines and then smudging off the pencil dust in the direction of flight. I decided to keep the weathering light as these J-10s have only entered service not too long ago hence weathering should be kept to a minimum.

I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I had fun building this J-10! If you have any queries or feedback, please feel free to contact me and I'll be most happy to respond with a smile! :)
