This is
the 1/72 Revell Snap F-14A. I had built this kit as a kid, so this was
just a nostalgia build. I could tell this was the same mold as the kit I
built years ago, but it looks like Revell changed the cockpit interior for
whatever reason.

The kit
didn't come with any landing gear, and included a simple base, so I elected to
make my own base. I decided to pose the F-14 in a similar pose to the F-14
at the Naval Aviation Museum I saw when I was real young.
The build was pretty
straightforward since its a snap kit. Detail was crude and the intakes
were blanked off, but since I wanted a quick build, I decided against rescribing
and simply painted the intake openings black. I finished off the kit with
decals from VF Decals for a F-14D. Not accurate, but I just wanted a nice
set of markings to dress up the kit.
