This is the F-5F M
(M for Modernized) used by FAB (Brazilian Air Force). The F5F M is a
multi-role 4th generation fighter with BVR capacity. I decided to build
this one because of its differences from the original F5-F, for instance,
the longer radome, absence of guns and the interception light on the
starboard side. This model is shown with a pair of Brazilian made SMK 83
guided free-fall bombs.

The
longer radome accommodates the bigger and more powerful GrifoF/BR radar.
The removal of guns was due to the relocation of the radar further to the
back thus keeping the length of the nose unaltered. An interesting
addition is the side light for night interception.
This
was an out-of-the-box build with only a couple of add-ons (side light and fuel
probe), some inscribbing for better fuselage details and the new radome. The
decals are FCM sheet 48 33 and the painting done with Model Master.
