The McDonnell XF-85 Goblin was an American prototype fighter aircraft, conceived during the World War II by McDonnell Aircraft It was intended to be deployed from the bomb bay of the giant Convair B-36 bomber as a parasite fighter. The XF-85's intended role was to defend bombers from hostile interceptor, a need demonstrated during World War II. Two prototypes were constructed before the program was terminated (USAF Serial no. #46-523 y #46-524). Was nicknamed "The Flying Egg".

The kit is the old MPM, but the model is bad despite that it comes with resin and photo etched parts. It has many imperfections on the surface and I had to putty and sand much of the same. The trolley was totally scratchbuilt and I only used the wheels from the original kit. The frame cockpit is scratched and the cockpit was thermoformed. The hook, exhaust, landing skid and pitot were scratched.

I painted it with Alclad II, first with bright black and Chrome and white Aluminum.
