I already had the pleasure to build a C185 from the same kit and comment about it on a previous article at http://www.arcair.com/Gal13/12401-12500/gal12445-Cessna185-Bigey/00.shtm

This time I had a go for the floats version, and I had them via the same manufacturer at http://www.mtaonline.net/~zdk/ where quality resin floats sets are available, of which Edo 2960 and 2870 to be used for the Cessna 180/185 variants.

My model represents an aircraft operated by a private owner in Norway which features a beautiful factory livery, and was made possible by Lima November Decals sheet # LN72-K03. This aircraft was alternatively fitted with Edo 2960 floats, wheels, or skis, and was temporarily used by the Norwegian Police, for which additional markings are provided.

Floats struts were made from flattened brass tubing of 1,3mm width which I found in Japan. Bracing wires are made from stretched sprue and control cables are hairs generously donated by my devoted girlfriend. For the rest I proceeded the same way as per the wheel version, and in order to display it in a simple way without being too far from reality, I built a trailer from a 1/72 Hughes 500 helicopter platform injected kit by Profiline.

I feel happy with the result, and grateful to Lars Opland from Khee Kha Art Products for the truly accurate shape and good quality of the different kit's parts.
