  ISM 4th Anniversary Build

This model is dedicated to the fantastic bunch of people at ISM who are helping me learn the ropes of scale modelling. This is my first attempt at modelling a Luftwaffe aircraft and fourth model overall. The kit used is from the Airfix Dogfight Doubles "Spitfire vs Bf 110 C-2". It comes together nicely except for the cockpit which needed fair amount of sanding before it settled down in place. Post a failed attempt at masking and painting the the intricate canopy, a fine brush was used for the task. The model was hand painted using the Humbrol Acrylics bundled along and sealed using locally available varnish before decal application most of which settled down well except the Sharkmouth decal which needed coaxing and cutting.

Sludge wash of soft pastels has been used to accentuate the panel lines. The decals given with the kit have been applied therefore the missing Swastika on the tail plane and the other markings on the aircraft. Overall an interesting learning experience for a beginner.

Enjoy the photos.
