F-84G Royal Hellenic Air Force

History in Royal Hellenic Air Force services

In 1952 Greece was admitted to NATO and the Air Force was rebuilt and organized according to NATO standards, with US assistance. New aircraft, including jets, were introduced.

The first jet fighter interceptor design to be flown by the Hellenic Air Force was the F-84G Thunderjet, from which the first Hellenic Acro-Team was created (337 SQ). The Hellenic Air force operated 234 F-84G from March 1952 until June 1960.

The Greek squadrons which flew the F-84G are:

  • 335 Fighter Bomber Squadron

  • 336 Fighter Bomber Squadron

  • 337 Fighter Bomber Squadron

  • 338 Fighter Bomber Squadron

  • 339 All weather Squadron

  • 340 Fighter Bomber Squadron

  • 348 Tactical reconnaissance

The KIT.
This is one of the best F-84G kits, with very nice details and fit.

Construction
The kit has been built OOB without any extra aftermarket details sets.

The aircraft is painted with Alclad II colors according to the following pattern scheme I had made.

Decals set was from Icarus Decals representing an F-84G 336FBS in Royal Hellenic Air Force service during 1954-1955.
