This project has been a long time coming. I started the project last September for my birthday and was to be one of my dream projects. It is modeled after a late model F-16 at my local Hill Air Force Base. I was able to get a close look at one of the jets during my visit at the last Air Show here.

The kit starts out with Tamiya's 1/32 F-16CJ Block 50. It is accompanied by an Aires wheel well and cockpit detail set. The wheel well has excellent detail. It did require a lot of work to get it to fit right. The cockpit was great in detail but didn't seem to add much more than what was provided by the kit. Getting the cockpit to fit was also challenging as shown in the photo above with the trimming and filling all the gaps.

The decals are a set from Afterburner. I chose to change up the electronics by adding the new Sniper Pod in place of the HARM system.

The cockpit was painted black as is done on much of the new aircraft to make night vision flight easier. For the HUD I chose to use the more common WAC HUD as many planes are switching back from the newer WAR HUD.
