1/72 Airfix MiG-15

My second Airfix MiG-15, this one coming straight from the box as well. A relatively easy build, I had it from box to display case within a week. Unusually for me, I used the decals from the kit as I quite liked the different camouflage schemes Chinese Fagots wore during the later stages of the Korean conflict.

Once assembly was complete I sprayed the entire plane with Testors Aircraft Grey. When that was cured, I started the camo using a fine paintbrush, getting the left outer wing panel done before I had that "what the hell am I doing" moment. I took a large sip of beer, shook it off and kept at it until I had the whole topside covered with the green squiggles. I was still skeptical of how it would turn out until I had the decals on when, finally, I was quite pleased at how good it looked. Good enough for a first place finish in its category at my local IPMS show this year.

I have included a couple pictures of this model together with my older Fagot.
