I have been wanting to build this model for quite a while now and actually building it was satisfying. Trumpeter provides a great basis for a kit with very good fit overall apart from some minor problems around the engine covers. The age of the molds is starting to show here and there though. The kit includes an extra transparent sprue for the engine covers in case you want to show off the also provided engines. I choose another way of showcasing one of the engines by simply cutting away part of the engine cover. Having a spare set makes deciding to do this less stressful.

I also included lots of Eduard goodies which made detailing fairly simple. The one engine I wanted to present did need some extra work though so some old school scratchbuilding was required. I'm happy with how this turned out.

Painting this bird was a joy. I decided to give it a used look. I incorporated all the weathering techniques I experimented with in my recent builds. To me it looks like a warplane that has seen it's share of action but hasn't been beaten up so bad you wouldn't want to take it on your next sortie anymore. I hope you all like it.
