This is
a Monogram F5 F converted to an Iranian Saeqeh 2. Since there is no such model
in the market - not in 1:48 scale - that I know of, I got an AFV club Saeqeh-80
and copyed the 2 ruders with acrilic resin. I also modernized the instruments
adding touch screens to the instrument panel as seen in some Saeqeh 2 cockpit
pictures available on the internet. The rest of the build was straight forward.
The model came together very nicely. The colours are Revell oils. Weathering is
limited to dust on the surface, just like the real planes. You don't see
chipping on them, just dust dirt. Decals are from the AFV Club kit. It comes
with colour scheme options, so I painted this kit in the desert scheme.

Here's
some history on the plane: The HESA Saeqeh 80 ("thunderbolt"), is an
Iranian built single-seat jet fighter, derived from the American Northrop F-5. The
first prototype of the jet was shown on state television making a test flight in
July 2004.
