This is
a model I finished a while back in a phase where I started to experiment with
weathering and chipping techniques and this P-47M was one of my "test
subjects". The Revell kit was built mainly OOB, I only replaced the cowl
flaps from the kit with scratch made ones from thinner material.

I base
painted the model with several metal shades using Model Master Metalizer paints.
For the blue camouflage I went with the Federal Standard color codes provided in
the kit instructions and ordered the according Lifecolor acrylics. Either the
claims in the instructions were wrong or Lifecolor mixed things up, but the
FS35231 Azure Blue was in hindsight waaay to bright for the darker of both camo
colors. Anyway, the builder disregarded the importance of researching the subject
properly prior to recreating it!
