This is my first article for ARC. I've been a regular visitor to the site for some time and enjoy looking at the terrific work produced by other modellers. As I have finally got around to buying myself a digital camera, I thought it was time I also contributed to the website.

I built this model out of the box and used the kit decals so I could try some of the weathering techniques that I've read about on ARC. The kit assembled without the need for filler due to the good fit of parts. Tamiya acrylics, medium grey XF-20, neutral grey XF-53 and black green XF-27 were used for the camouflage.

The model was post shaded with thinned greyish black mix of Tamiya acrylics which had a mixing ratio of approx 70% thinner to 30% paint. I used a Aztec A470 Airbrush with the tan nozzle in order to spray the finest lines I could over all the panel lines. Further weathering was also done with an airbrush.

A wash was then applied to all panel lines with black Jo Sonja artist acrylics to the upper surfaces and dark grey to the underside. A mixture of Jo Sonja flow medium and water were used with the acrylics to make the wash flow into the panel lines. I also use Jo Sonja acrylics for all my detail and figure painting as I find Hobby acrylics too gluggy for use with a paintbrush.
