Nicknamed "Tojo" by the
American, the nakajima Ki-44-II Otu Shoki was an example of the desperate effort
made by the Japanese to stop the "carpet bombing" against Japan.
Despite the two 40mm canon fitted in the wings, this fighter wasn't a success.

The model depicted
is a Tojo from the 47th Sentai in late 1943. The white bands signify that this
aircraft was used for the defense of the Japan homeland. The Hasegawa kit
in 1/48th scale was build direct from the box. I used model master metallic
paints.
