1/72 Magna Models Blackburn Beverley

This is my Blackburn Beverley in 1/72. It was built and painted to represent Beverley XB261 which spent its life with A&AEE Boscombe down. When it was retired it was flown to Southend Airport in Essex where it was moved across the road to the Historic aircraft collection museum.  It spent years there, outside exposed to the elements before being Scrapped when the museum was closed. The cockpit section was saved and is now at Newark air museum. I have very fond memories of this aircraft.  I can remember approaching the museum and and seeing the Huge tails towering over the road.  Although it is not really much bigger than a hercules, in my opinion it is far more impressive.

Magnas Kit is Resin. The wings are solid resin and the model weighs a ton! It went together fairly well. It needed some steel rods as spars for the wings to achieve the correct dihedral. Undercarriage parts, propellers, and some fittings are white metal. Cheatlines were hand painted.  All lettering was done using rub down letters.
