1/72 Hasegawa Spitfire Mk.XVI

This a Hasegawa 1/72 Spit Mk.IX that I modified into a Mk.XVI by copying in resin the lowered turtle-deck piece from the Fujimi Mk.XIV and using a Squadron vac-canopy.  The wing cannons and their associated bulges were moved into the outboard cannon position and the outer .303 MG holes were plugged and had their panel lines filled in.  Markings are a mish-mash of kit, spares-box and some of the decals from the Heller Mk.XVI.  I'm not positive that the spinner being painted blue is accurate, but I liked the way it looked on the Heller boxing, so that's the way I did it.  The yellow identification bands on the leading edges of the wings are yellow decal film.
