This
is my second entry to ARC with another Sci-Fi subject : my Star Wars TIE Fighter
in the Ln variant (there’s another variant called In which is more powerful
than Ln version, it has better weapons, better range, better maneuverability and
better speed, you can see it in “The Empire Strikes Back”, it’s the blue
TIE fighter). So this is the standard version, it’s surely affected to a Death
Star squadron or a Star Destroyer one during the Yavin battle period in “A New
Hope”.

About
the kit, it’s Fine Molds, finely engraved with a lot of details, with a
perfect fit. The kit is conceived in a way that you shouldn’t have any sanding
or any masking job to do, except for the transparent part, but all the masks are
provided. Are also provided a (not very beautiful) display stand, a (clone ?)
pilot figure and two standing stormtroopers figures. There are few decals, most
of them serve for the cockpit decoration, the kit proposes two versions for
decaling which seem to be both the same.
The
model is built OOB and painted with three tones of grey : FS36495 (Gunze H338)
is the main colour, neutral grey (H53) and field grey 1 (H32) for the details.
Solar panels are painted all black (H12). The panel lines are darkened with a
darker grey than H338 but it stays very light, I think that the Empire must show
its might by keeping their spacecrafts like new.
Well,
again a recommended little kit for any Star Wars or Sci-fi fan/modeller. Also,
if you hate grey models, you can build the In version, just replace grey H338 by
an intermediate blue like Gunze H56 and cut the laser guns and pierce them (like
for the TIE Interceptor, if you like…).
Happy
modelling !
