Mitsubishi J2M3
"Raiden" was called "JACK" by the Allied Forces during the
Pacific war. This aircraft was captured by the Allied Forces and brought to U.S. for proving
flight. I built this model
from an old kit of LS 1/144 series. I couldn't find aftermarket
decals. So I had to make them by myself. The cockpit was empty. No floor and no seat was there. So I added a pilot's
seat made from styrene sheet to the cockpit. Roundels , Fin flash and "NO STEP" signs are home-made decals. I
used Gunze Mr Mark Setter to avoid silvering. After applying decals, I sprayed semi-gloss clear paint to protect decals. I
used thinned Tamiya Enamel for weathering.
