The
Air Superiority Mig
During
2005, the whole TUDM Mig-29 fleet was repainted in this single tone air
defense gray scheme, It was first seen during the Merdeka fly pass and later
made a full debut at LIMA 2005, other changes including the roundel was changed
from the low vis square type to the standard colored roundel but with reversed
color orientation. Furthermore a 3 color finflash also added to each side of the
fin.
The
Flying Mig By Aidy Abdullah
This MiG-29 was built using the usual Academy kit, with VFA refueling probe,
True Details K-36 seats and eduard instrument panel. It was meant to be built
with wheels down (hence cockpit add-ons and missing pilot!) but a beautiful
stand came along, prompting the buyer to want to make this in flying mode.
Decals were a mix of roundels from F4Dable's Hornet sheet, VFA's own old MiG
sheets and the prototype of what you now see as the new mig sheet. Paint used
was supplied by the buyer, but I think you can get a reasonable match with a mix
of Gunze H305 and white.

Mig-29NUB

This
is also built OOB from the Academy kit, the fit of the various assembly
sub-modules especially at the front fuselage needed a lot of attention and work.
Careful part assembly sequence planning and parts alignment will reduce the work
needed on all the seam lines.
The panel lines were
pre-shaded black and the whole model was painted Gunze medium sea gray with the
leading edge of the fin tip and brake chute cap painted black, and leading
edge of the tailplanes and cannon bay were painted steel. Weathering was kept to
minimal.
