1/48 Tamiya Me-262

This my 1/48 scale Me-262 from Tamiya, the kit was built OOB except for Lion Roar  photo-etched seat belts. It was painted with a mix of my own using Humbrol enamel colors.

The model represents a Me-262 1Aa white 5 W.Nr 11690 of 1/JG7 based at Prague Ruzyny airfield on may 1945.

This particular airplane was flown by Oberleutnant Fritz Stehle in which he gained the last air combat victory for the Luftwaffe on May 8th at 4.00pm when he shot down a Bell P-39Q Airacobra of 127th Guards Fighter Regiment and piloted by Lieutenant S.G Stepanov.  Stepanov was killed during the engagement becoming the last pilot killed in air combat during WW II.
