TUDM
Mig-29NUB - M43-01
This
is my first attempt in building a TUDM aircraft, and I chose the Mig-29NUB.
As I
was also trying to test my skill on camouflage painting, I decided to do the
early version of TUDM’s Mig-29.
The
kit is 1/48 Academy Mig-29UB, kit No AC2119. The only aftermarket item I added,
was the decals, which are produced by ScaleNutz. Other than that, I built this
kit right out of the box.
The
fit
are ok, just needed to pay attention to certain areas, such as the nose. The nose
is a two piece unit, which once mated, filling with putty is required to get rid of
the seam line.

This
plane is a heavy tail seater and weight must be added and I mean lots of it.
The
mating of the front section of the plane, to the main fuselage. After mating, I
sanded it to even out the surface area. After that, putty is required to fill
the small gap in between the mating area. After some sanding and was done.
Next,
the mating of the wings to the main fuselage. I filled the joining point with
Tamiya Putty, then sanded it off.
Final
construction is on the tail. I left the air brakes open.
For
painting, I used Hobby Color Acrylic, H308 + a bit of White and H312 + a bit
of White. Finished off the bird with light weathering, and a flat clear coat
