These
are the Brazilian P-47D´s that were used in Italy in 1944. The pilot
of 'A1' aircraft was Asp Menezes and the kit is Revell 1/72, a very good and was
built during the 3rd Superkits marathon in 24hours (http://www.superkits.com.br/?action=materia_public&id=1)
.
The '2' aircraft pilot was Cap Lagares and is a Academy 1/72 kit. They
operated for 1st Brazilian fight squadron (1a GavCa). This squadron was
part of the USAF 350th Fighter Group. Between October '44 to May '45 this squadron
did 455 war missions. 16 planes were knocked down by Germans and 5 pilots died.
During the 6th to 29th of April the Brazilian group flew 5% of the total
missions, they destroyed 15% of the German vehicles, 28% of the bridges, 36%
fuel store buildings and 85% of the ammunition store depots.

painted the kits using Humbrol polished aluminium (metal cote). Decals are
FCM decals set 72-01.
