1/72 Hasegawa F-15B

This is my Hasegawa 1/72 F-15B built as one of the Eagles used by the USAF at Edwards AFB for various test duties. The Hasegawa kit is a nice little kit that goes together pretty decently. The only fit problem I had was the fit between the nose and rear fuselage parts, but with a little patience this went together pretty well. I used the kit decals for the smaller markings and the roundels came from other sources, as the kit ones were too creamy white. Hasegawa also gives you the red areas as decals, but I decided to paint these as they were too dark and I had some doubts if they would look "painted on". I used ModelMaster Ferrari Red for these areas.

For the bare metal areas, I used 3 different shades of ModelMaster Metallizer paints. I'm pretty pleased with the look of it.

Special thanks to Anthony Wan for making me a banner for the Flight Test & Evaluation Group Build, for which this kit was built. Mike J. Idacavage, who posted a bunch of good reference pics of the real thing. The guys in chat, for keeping me motivated. And all of you who had a look at the in-progress thread and posted their comments.
