--------------------

This new decal sheet from Wolfpak Decals includes markings for five different 1/72 aircraft including a B-24D, EB-66C, F-100F and two C-130J's.

The first aircraft is a C-130J  aircraft #8159, June 2001 with the 815th Airlift Squadron, 403rd Wing, 22nd Air force. AFRC, Keesler AFB, Biloxi, Mississippi.   This aircraft has text of "Spirit of Biloxi" on the side of the fuselage.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is overall FS 36173 AMC Grey.  The tail has a horizontal red stripe with the "Flying Jennies" in white script.

The second aircraft is a stretched C-130J-30 aircraft #8154 with the 815th Airlift Squadron, 403rd Wing, 22nd Air force. AFRC, Keesler AFB, Biloxi, Mississippi.    The paint scheme for this aircraft is overall FS 36173 AMC Grey.  This aircraft was received before the completion of the Operational Test and Evaluation of the J model of the C-130 by the Air Force, so this aircraft lacks the final USAF markings.

The third aircraft is a B-24D "Playmate" with the 801st (later 492nd) bomb group "Carpetbaggers" 8th Air Force, Harrington, Northamptonshire, England.  This aircraft is one of the initial batch of B-24D's modified for use as a special operations transport during World War II.  In this role the Carpetbagger B-24D's were used to insert and re-supply agents behind enemy lines in Europe.  There are mods that are required to get the details correct on this B-24D including removal of some guns and the lower turret and flame dampeners on the exhausts and other details that are covered point by point in the instruction sheet.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is overall FS 37038 Flat black.

The fourth aircraft is a EB-66C assigned to the 42nd Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron, 388th TFW, Korat AFB, Thailand in 1972.  This aircraft was shot down near the North Vietnamese city of Vinh on April 12, 1972.  This aircraft's callsign was "Bat 21" and the navigator Col. Gene Hambleton survived the shoot down and was rescued after evading the North Vietnamese for 11 1/2 days.  This story was featured in a book and the "Bat 21" movie.  As a result of the rescue effort 234 medals were awarded to individuals including the Congressional Medal of Honor to Lt. Thomas R. Norris a Navy Seal.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is the SEA (South East Asia) scheme.

The fifth aircraft is a F-100F "The Ghost" with Misty FAC, 416th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 37th Tactical Fighter Wing, Phu Cat, South Vietnam.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is the SEA (South East Asia) scheme.  The forward nose gear door is black with a silhouette of a white Knight chess piece (the chess piece artwork is provided as a decal).

The 4 pages of instructions are clear and include 3 views of the aircraft in the SEA schemes and one side view of the one color aircraft.   aircraft.  The decals are beautifully printed on 1 decal sheet.

I'm excited to see markings for such a  wide variety of aircraft and the "Bat 21" aircraft is a special treat.
