Review by Radek Lhotsky on July 21 2008

REVI, - known mainly for high quality magazines (published bimonthly) put on the market their 14th book.

And what a treat for WW I fans! K.u.k. Luftfahrtruppe  Photo Album 1914-18 Volume 1 by Petr Oharon Tesar is a compilation of what REVI published in the past 10 years on the pages of their magazine. But this is not just a reprint. This book includes many new photos - a total of 156 of them literally packed on 84 pages. The quality of reproductions is just incredible and used high quality paper just adds to the value. Most of these photos were not published ever before. Many of these are from private family collections of K.u.k. Luftfahrtruppe descendants, Czech Museums and Archives. The entire text is in English.

What amazes me most are some of the photos featuring single aircraft from multiple angles - just ideal for recreations of the color schemes. Which makes this publication a great reference for modelers.

23 superb color profiles on 13 pages are work of Zdenek Machacek - one of the top Czech Aviation artists. The covered aircraft includes: Fokker A.III (E.III), Fokker B.II, Albatros D.III, Hanriot HD.1, Phoenix D.I, Phoenix D.II,Sopwith F.1 Camel, Hansa Brandenburg C.I and Ufag C.I.

On page 83 you can also find a little "teaser ad" for upcoming AML Decals featuring some of the aircraft from this book (the scale is not mentioned).
