The Hellenic Air Force (or Greek Air Force) first began acquiring the F-16 in
1988 and they originally planned to buy a total of 170 F-16's. Their F-16
fleet includes C's and D's in Block 30, 50 and 52.
This decal sheet
focuses on the F-16C/D Block 50/52 jets from the Hellenic Air Force. You
get a total of 7 jets on this sheet including four F-16C's and three
F-16D's. The paint used the the Hellenic F-16's has a metal sheen to
reduce the radar signature of the aircraft. To replicate this sheen you
can either mix Testors Metalizer to your paint or you can use a new product by
Hawkeye Hobbies called "Raptor Sheen". This tinting agent can be
added to any Testors Model Master Enamel paint to give it a reflective
"Have Glass" finish.
If you choose to accurately
build a Hellenic F-16D then a
Peace Carvin type spine is required.
The Hellenic F-16's
on this sheet include the following:
-
F-16C Block 50
S/N 93-1055 with the 341st FS "Aces" 111th Combat Wing, Nea

There are enough markings on this sheet to build two complete jets. Both data stencil styles are available on this sheet as
well ....including
markings for the drop tanks.
All decals are sized for the Tamiya kit but these can also be used on the Hasegawa and Kinetic kits with minor adjustments.
Recommended Kits:
The instructions are clear and
include 4 views of each aircraft. The decals are beautifully printed on 1
decal sheet
and a smaller insert decal sheet. Paint codes are called out in FS #'s, Testors MM,
Humbrol, Gunze Sangyo and Xtracrylics.
Special thanks goes out to Loannis
Lekkas and Stefanos Taioglou for their excellent references and research for
this decal sheet.
I'm very excited to see markings for
the Hellenic F-16's and I'm quite pleased to see both F-16C's and F-16D's
available on this decal sheet. Plus there are enough stencils to build 2
jets....which is a major plus on this decal sheet.
This sheet is available through http://www.twobobs.net/
and select US Hobby Shops. Overseas customers can purchase these from
Twobobs site or through Twobobs network of overseas distributors.
