  Master Box

1/32 Famous Pilots of World War Two (Kit 1)

  Product #MB3201 (http://www.hlj.com/product/MSB3201F) from HobbyLink =
Japan (http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljlist.cgi?rel=3Dnav&GenreCode=3DAir)

Product Article by Dave Johnson on July 2010

Master Box from the Ukraine is well know through the ranks of the =
Armor and Figure Modelers, as they produce a excellent range of plastic =
injected molded figures and accessories. The level of detail that Master =
Box achieves in the their injection molding is outstanding, and the =
level of detail would be what you expect from a resin figure =
manufacturer. Most aircraft modelers will know how hard it is to find =
pilots in 32nd scale to pose next to their completed aircraft builds... =
Well Master Box has finally come to the rescue and have produced their =
first release in 32nd scale of 6 World War Two Aces from 6 different =
countries.

On the box you can see what pilots are included in the set, but the =
box art is a bit misleading... But I will come to that in a few moments! =
The pilots that are included are - Richard Ira Bong (USA), Sakai Saburo =
(Japan), Werner Molders (Germany), Lily Litviak (USSR), James Edgar =
"Johnnie " Johnson (England), Albert Marcel (France). Now back to the =
misleading part of the box art... The figure for Johnnie Johnson =
portrays him standing next to his dog in his RAF blue officers uniform =
with a turtleneck sweater. In the box the figure is molded completely =
different that is portrayed, there is no dog supplied unforturenally, =
and his uniform has changed to a something which looks very like what an =
USAAF pilot would wear! That's the only thing that I would complain =
about in this fantastic figure kit. The detail that Master Box has =
tooled for the plastic is excellent as I mention earlier on. All the =
details on the plastic parts are molded very crisp and free from any =
kind of sink marks, mould lines are very minimal. I normally don't =
mention prices or value in reviews, as I would guess most people would =
go out and buy an said item if they really want it, like I do. But, this =
time I have to mention the price of this set is very cheap comparing it =
to the value of 6 individual resin figures in the same scale would set =
you back! Included, also a surprise 14 page booklet, containing short =
bio's of each pilot that is included in this set.=20

Well going by the title on the box, Famous Pilots of WW2 Kit 1... It =
appears that Master Box has more Pilot Figures to release in this scale. =
I am one for sure looking forward to this, and I am guessing that I am =
not the only one either!=20

I would like to thank HobbyLink Japan (www.hlj.com) for supplying this =
sample to me.
