This latest release from Lifelike Decals features three different P-47D.  This is Part 8 of  a series dealing with the P-47D in American markings from January 1945 to March of 1945 in Germany, England and the Philippines.

The 3 aircraft feature one bubble top and 2 Razorbacks and 2 aircraft with noseart and the 3rd aircraft has script on the nose for artwork. 

The 3 aircraft include:

  • P-47D-30-RA,  Bubbletop 44-33416 flown by Major Charles F. Matheson, 394 FS/367 FG, Furth/Germany in the spring of 1945.  Paint scheme is overall bare metal with a bright yellow nose and Olive Drab anti-glare panel and red, yellow, blue and black stripes on the rudder.  The spinner has this rainbow colored stripes.  This aircraft has 2 kill markings.  The noseart is of a cartoon character called "Philbert" that was also the noseart on this pilot's P-38.

  • P-47D-23-RA,  Razorback 42-27886 flown by Capt. Marvin E. Grant, 342 FS/348 FG, Leyte, Philippines from November 1944 to January 1945.  Paint scheme is overall bare metal with a Olive Drab nose and anti-glare panel and white script of the name "Sylvia" on the nose.  This aircraft has a red and white striped rudder and a long colorful stripe down the side of the fuselage.  Capt. Grant had 7 kill markings by the end of the war and those 7 are also on this aircraft.

  • P-47D-6-RE,  Razorback 42-74726 flown by Capt. Charles F. Anderson, 335 FS/4  FG, Debden/England November 1943 to March 1944.  Paint scheme is overall Olive Drab and the noseart is a sexy lady in a red dress holding an aircraft machine gun with the name "Hell's Belle".  Capt. Anderson had 10 aerial victories by the time of his death due to mechanical failure on Apr 19 1944.

The quality of these decals is of very good quality.  The decals themselves are clearly printed and in perfect register.  Some decals come in 2 layers to ensure perfect registration.  The decals are contained on 3 decal sheets. 

This decal sheet gives you some excellent variety and the addition of Aces and noseart makes this a very attractive decal sheet for the WW2 modeler.
