These photos were taken at Antwerp Stampe Center,
located on the airport of Antwerp.
This museum is dedicated to Jean Stampe and Maurice Vertongen, the
builders of the famous SV-4b biplane trainer. This
3-cilinder, 25 hp Anzani engine is the same type that used Bleriot when he
crossed the Channel in 1909. At the moment we have in the museum a replica
of a Bleriot IX in loan from a Dutch museum and if you see the aircraft and the
engine, one can only have deep respect for those daring aviators who were trying
to conquer the air with those flying machines!
