No
update today....I'm having computer problems
|
|
My slave hard drive on my
ARC computer has bit the dust after 18 months of faithful service.
It shows that the data is still there but I can't access it through
Windows Explorer. If you have any ideas how I can pull the data off
this harddrive myself......I would love to get an e-mail from you.
If I have to.....I will pay to have the data retrieved....but I'd
love to do it myself if possible. E-mail me at sheb@telus.net
Update.....I
loaded the slave drive into a USB external drive box and plugged it into
my P-4 XP laptop. I ran scan disk and it erased all the files by the
time it was done. Needless to say I was more than a bit surprised by
this outcome. The drive does work mechanically.......it seems to be
some sort of pathway issue.....possibly relating to a few bad sectors that
recently appeared on the slave hard drive. Very few articles are
affected....but I'd still like to recover the data.

I will be only taking a few
days off from ARC to tend to my wife and youngest daughter as they battle
the flu.....my Mom thought highly of ARC and I do find ARC to be good
therapy in difficult times. I will mourn my Mom forever.
|
On Sunday Mar 13 at
1:25am.....my dear Mom passed away surrounded by myself and my 2
sisters. My Mom was the one that taught me love and compassion for
others and the importance of doing the right thing.....I am totally
devastated by the loss of my Mom. To endure the loss of both my
parents in 2 months is absolutely crushing to my spirit. The loss of
my Mom has left a large painful void in my soul.
