WW1 Events - this date in  1915

Orlando Sucre Rosales joins us with his first article on ARC.  This great looking 1/72 Hasegawa Martlet Mk.II is the British version of the Wildcat which Orlando really did turn into a wonderful model with it's paint chipped British camo.  Welcome to ARC Orlando!!!

Istvan Zoldag has done a stellar job on his  Hungarian 1/48 Academy Mig-21MF.  Istvan used a  F.M. Details cockpit and Eduard photoetched parts to dress up the detail on his Fishbed before giving it a flawlessly done paint job.

Floyd S. Werner, Jr. is a highly accomplished modeller and today he is here with his 1/48 Accurate Miniatures Focke-Wulf FW-190A-8. Floyd tells in very helpful detail about how to build this kit to avoid problems.  Floyd weathered his 190 and finished it in the markings for the famous Pips Priller.  Wow....nicely done Floyd.

Lim Yun Chong joins us with his sharp looking 1/72 Italeri F-16B.  I always love the look of 2 seaters and this F-16 came out looking very good.  Lim Yun Chong used pre-shading on the panel lines and other very successfully done techniques to finish this fine looking F-16.

WW1 Events - this date in  1915

Hoa Long gets things started today with a amazingly realistic 1/72 Italeri VNAF CH-47A Chinook.  Have a close look at this one.......it looks like the real aircraft in the later days of the Vietnam war.

George Athanasiades is the artistic designer of the artwork that appears on the 1/1 aircraft and this is his model of this aircraft using the 1/32 Tamiya HAF F-16C (Jason).  George added extra detail in some very special areas and gave his Hellenic Air Force a full weathering job.  Wow.....nicely done George.

Michael Ezat is here from sunny Greece with his sharp looking 1/32 J. Rutman's Ta-152H.  Michael masked and painted all the markings on this rare Luftwaffe fighter and the finished model looks fantastic.

After 36 hours of traveling I've arrived at the tourist island of Boracay, Philippines.  Boracay is like Waikiki in Hawaii and full of Asian tourists...mostly from China, Taiwan and Korea.  They get cheap package deals much like we get for Las Vegas.  Angel was at the airport to meet me....she is looking good.  It took me a couple of days to settle in and adjust to the time change and figure out an internet connection.  The Philippines is warm and and the people are friendly and everyone speaks english....it is far away but well worth the effort.  Today is a quiet day at home resting and relaxing.

I've loaded the update for Monday and Tuesday.....go back and enjoy.

Busolini Massimo dropped by the ARC Corporate office in Italy with his 1/48 Hasegawa TF-104G Starfighter.  Busolini used a very simple but effective technique for painting his Royal Danish Air Force Starfighter.  The finished model looks fantastic and his painting technique is well worth reading about in his article.

Dan McWilliams is here with one of my favourite airliners.  This is his 1/144 CC-137  which Dan built with good ol' modelling skill and finished it off with aftermarket decals.  I fondly recall flying a DND (Canadian Military) 707 in '72 on a  'flip' to Cyprus with my Dad for a vacation.  As I recall the flight was $12 per person......to cover food.

Serge Dompierre  has done an exceptionally nice job building, detailing his  and finishing his 1/32 Hasegawa Fw-190 A-8.  Serge added scratchbuilt detail to his 190 and that posed it in a  maintenance diorama complete with figures and tools etc.  I really like how this one turned out.

Mark Patman is here with his second article on ARC.  This is Mark's 1/48 Tamiya P-47 Razorback and although Mark is humble about his efforts......I'm deeply impressed when I see how well his P-47 turned out.

Sergei Galicky is here with his excellent looking Vietnam era 1/48 Italeri F-4E Phantom II.  Sergei gave his Phantom a full weapons load plus all the small details that set a model apart from the rest.  The paint job and weathering is exactly what I would expect from a real F-4 in Vietnam.

Marcius Cesar Costa is here with a very interesting conversion.  This is his 1/72 PBY 5A Cargo Catalina completed with a  resin set from GIIC Models.   Marcius finished it off in Brazilian Air Force markings.  Nicely done Marcius.

Bill Dedig starts today in style with his 1/48 Eduard/Kinetic F-16 A Netz wearing Israeli markings.  This was quite the involved project using Bill's top notch skills as a modeller and some aftermarket goodies to complete this stunning model.  Bill demonstrates in his photos how to get a soft edge on camo using Blu-tack.  I love the look of this Netz.

Burt Gustafson is here with a rare Japanese aircraft based on the Zero.  This is his 1/72 Hasegawa Nakajima A6M2-N Type 2 Fighter Seaplane in all it's glory and displayed on a beaching dolly.  Burt chose the markings for a seaplane that operated at Kiska Island, Aleutian Islands, in the summer of 1942..

Jens Gerber starts today with his very good looking 1/48 Hasegawa Bf 109 G14/AS.  This 109 is from Dec '44 and features photo etch seatbelts and one very complicated and well done camo scheme.  Jens is a skilled modeller and you can see that in his photos.  Beautiful work Jens.

Alacran has been busy building the 1/72 High Planes I.A.I. Dagger.  Alacran added aftermarket items to dress up the cockpit and exhausts along with a great looking access ladder.  The whole project was wrapped up in a beautiful camo scheme worn by an Argentinean jet that was shot down by a Sea Harrier during the Falklands war.

Jaroslav Kral is here to mark a very tragic anniversary today.  This amazing diorama is his Sonderkommando Elbe - Luftwaffe deadliest mission 7th April 1945 when the Luftwaffe fighters began ramming Allied bombers.  This is a world class and very moving diorama.

Klaasjan Schuuring has done some very serious old school scratchbuilt detailing on his big detail rich 1/32 Revell Eurofighter Typhoon.  Klaasjan is a master at detailing and he has taken full advantage to the detailing possibilities available in 1/32 scale as you will see in his photos.

Shawn "Phantom" Weiler is here with something you won't see very often.  This is his 1/48 Revell H-34 (CH-126).  Shawn finished his helo as a CFB Cold Lake base Flight Rescue bird back in 1970 for the current SAR Group Build on the ARC forums.  I'm impressed you pulled together all the markings for this one Shawn.....it looks great!!!
