Suriname Independence Day

Had a 12 hour blackout all day Thursday as a typhoon blew through our area of the Philippines.  Electricity was cut to keep people safe during the storm.  Imagine monsoon rain for 8 hours at a 45 degree angle due to the winds and we went out during the storm to the local farmers market to buy some food for dinner...then cooked with gas by flashlight.  :-)

Rocket 500 joins us today for the first time with this outstanding 1/48 ESCI F-4J Phantom.  Rocket 500 added a resin cockpit and a variety of photo etch to enhance all the detail and then added scratchbuilt detail to the wheelbays.  The final work was a stunning weathering job that was finished with Jolly Rogers markings using aftermarket decals.  Welcome to ARC Rocket 500....it's a beautiful F-4.

Eric Hargett has excelled on the bare metal finish on his 1/48 Classic Airframes Messerschmitt BF 109A.  Eric gave his 109A added weathering and finished it as a Luftwaffe aircraft during the Spanish Civil War.  Eric got everything looking perfect on this one including the multi-shaded bare metal finish.

I will be working to remove the warning page, but it is not a quick or easy process, but I will get it removed when I can.  Certain browsers have more of a problem with the warning page and for me Firefox works well but I am aware other browsers also work to access the forums.

Paulo Castro usually builds 1/72, but today he is here with his outstanding 1/48 Airfix Spitfire MK XII.  This is Paulo's 3rd model on ARC and he built this gem out of the box and finished it with an exceptional weathering job as you will see in his photos.  I love the engine oil stains on the underside of this Spitfire.

Daniel Colombi joins us today with his second model on ARC.  This is his 1/35 Dragon UH-1H Huey II which was modified from a UH-1D by reworking the interior and cockpit before the engine covers were opened to show off his scratch built engine detail.  The main rotor was scratchbuilt and it was finished in custom made decals.  This is one great looking Huey and the photos show Daniel's highly skilled work.
